The gut microbiome impacts the brain

What we eat and how it is processed by the gut is proving to be more important that ever. Research is showing that the gut microbiome has a significant impact on the brain.  Brain health in impacted in significant ways both negatively and positively based upon the gut microbiome.  

Structural bacterial components can stimulate the brain to improve the immune system. When the gut microbiome is lacking the bacteria needed for proper health it can inversely reduce immune system responses.   A healthy gut microbiome provides more than a stimulation of the immune system.  The healthy gut ensures that the brain has the materials that it needs to keep healthy.
